We are looking for an experienced and motivated Draftsperson to join our growing team, providing design and drafting services to our business. The successful candidate should have a combination of technical skills, problem solving ability, creativity, aesthetic judgment along with proven leadership qualities.
As a market leader across the mining and industrial sectors, HMA Wear Solutions have been supplying and manufacturing specialised ceramic wear resistant linings and systems in Australia for over 45 years.
THE ROLE
Working within the team in our Berkeley Vale office and reporting to the National Sales Manager, the key objectives of this position will be to support the greater sales team in all aspects of drafting to produce both sales related concepts and manufacturing drawings suitable for production. Responsibilities include;
- Preparing detailed drawings and schematics, using specialised software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and other CAD-based programs.
- Prepare 3D models and renderings of proposed projects.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other design professionals to create and integrate piping designs.
- Analyze and interpret customer specifications and design requirements to develop concepts and layouts.
- Review and modify existing design documents and models to ensure accuracy and conformity to both company and industry standards.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings for review by engineering and production staff.
- Provide technical support, training and instruction to the drafting team as needed.
- Maintain records of drafts, updates, and all related materials.

ABOUT YOU
The role is ideal for someone already directing a small team, or those looking for their next challenge.
Ideal candidates should possess the following skills and attributes;
- Minimum five years drafting experience, with piping systems
- Experience managing a small team desirable
- Display Leadership in all areas of work
- Exceptional knowledge of design and drafting software, including AutoCAD, Inventor
- Experienced in 3D drafting using Faro laser scanning equipment; highly regarded
- Highly Motivated & Enthusiastic
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Possess strong computer skills around the Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent time management
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
- Aptitude for solving complex technical problems.
- Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail.
In addition you may be required to visit sites with the sales team to assist you in producing manufacturing drawings.
