Job Description
We have a strong pipeline of projects in the design, development and construction of Industrial projects in Australia and overseas. These projects include bulk fuel facilities, SAF facilities, Fuel Terminal modifications, water and sewage treatment systems, wharf pipelines and various Defence facilities.
We are currently recruiting a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Brisbane Engineering team. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in project development, ensuring high-quality designs and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Mechanical Team Lead, this position will involve but not be limited to the following duties:
- Project and design management for small projects including coordination with clients, managing project team and tracking of schedule and delivery,
- Design, develop, and implement fuel infrastructure and piping systems for various projects.
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications (e.g. AS1940, AS4041, AS2885)
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports using CAD and other software tools.
- Coordinate with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of projects.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and investigations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
- Efficiently assist in allocating engineering design and drafting resources to meet deliverable dates and man-hour budgets for timely deliverables ensuring project schedules are met for areas of assigned work.
- Assist in preparing accurate man-hour budgets and design schedules for studies and detailed engineering projects.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
We expect the successful candidate will possess experience and qualifications as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 6 years' in design engineering
- CPEng and RPEQ, or actively working towards (highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of Australian engineering codes and standards particularly AS1940 (preferred) and AS4041 (mandatory).
- Ability to produce and review engineering calculations including hydraulic analysis, stress analysis (preferred) and surge analysis (preferred).
- Experience in design of pumping and piping systems. Experience in chemicals/fuel is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in delivery projects for the Department of Defence and/or major fuel providers (preferred)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be proficient in the supervision of subordinate personnel.
