AddressReporting to the Heavy Industry Mechanical Principal Engineer, this is a great opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with Rolling Stock experience to join the Hazelmere based engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying, assessing and managing engineering risks
- Maintaining clear communication with key stakeholders
- Understanding and ensuring facilities comply with technical, regulatory and governance requirements
- Designing and developing products, specifications and plans without supervision
- Interpreting engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes
- Ensuring project owners comply with project management processes
- Resolving technical and design issues
- Working collaboratively with the broader engineering team, project manager and workshop execution teams
- Designing reviews and calculations
- Prioritising and delivering work in a fast-paced environment
- Adapting to change and to new requirements quickly
- Proactively delivering on the company’s stretch targets
- Providing regular updates to the Principal and Project Manager
- Established post-qualification experience and accreditation in product development and industrial roles.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience specifying, designing, or testing Rolling Stock Mechanical systems such as above deck, bogies, structures, noise, vibrations, mechanical sub-systems, and dynamics
- Mechanical design and testing obligations awareness in Rolling Stock including environmental performance, dynamics, RAMS, SIL and safety SFAIRP
- Understanding of industry standards from AS/RISSB and EN series
- Competent in use of SAP or similar management systems
