The Position
We are searching for a Senior Mechanical Field Engineer who will be responsible for:
- Lead the L1&L2 Mechanical Projectwide Strategies and Sequence of Work
- Lead the Mechanical Engineering T&C Team responsible of developing the T&C Procedures and associated Tests.
- Provide leadership and technical direction to project staff, design consultants, Sub Contractors, Project Managers, Technology Vendors, in order to resolve Complex Technical issue in his area of practice
- Represent the T&C team during the execution of T&C Electro-Mechanical (HVAC) activities within the area.
- Identify risks to Ventilation, and Hydraulic commissioning and implementation and apply control measures to the risks.
- Implement the PICO process
- Implement and organise the Witness Testing on the project
- Manage the D&C T&C Mechanical field team
- Review and sign the HVAC and Vertical Transportation FTRs and other test reports
- Coordinate and participate in interface testing in his area when multiple discipline are involved,
- Report the defects identified during the tests and support the Delivery team with his field team to investigate and rectify
- Perform all duties in accordance with D&C and John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.
- Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- In addition, Tertiary Qualification in Management
- 10+ years’ experience in Design & Commissioning on Major Project
- Experience on > $500 M Projects
- Advanced commercial acumen including cost reduction and meeting budgets
- Delivery of major projects and teams to program and budget specifications
- Understanding of the Quality Management Plan. Safety Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan and Projects Design Management Plan
- Multi-discipline project experience in Building, Construction and Design.
- Strong stakeholder management with major consultant partners.
- Awareness of risk management principles and how design can impact operational risk.
- Proficient skills in relevant computer software packages and necessary to perform the role.
- Strong time and cost management skills in timely delivery of design and management of both the costs of preparing design and the costs of the works.
