Senior Coordinator Media & Communications 

$123,814.07 - $138,745.51 per annum (plus super)

Permanent Full Time 38 hours per week

About the Role

Fast paced Media & Comms leadership role in fun team, serving a vibrant multicultural community. Lots of engagement with local & broadcast media.

This is a senior leadership position with a small team of direct reports, but leadership responsibilities across the whole Media & Communications function. We have a lively local media scene and pretty frequent opportunities to engage with metro and broadcast media outlets.

About You

You’ll be an experienced strat comms professional with exceptional writing skills, good judgment and the ability to do fast research. You’ll be friendly and build your network across Council quickly. You’ll have considerable media experience. Public sector experience will help, but isn’t essential.

This role has direct engagement with the Mayor, Councillors and the Executive and requires a high level of professionalism and sound judgment. It’s fast-paced and demanding, but there’s lots of latitude to drive process improvements or innovations. We provide genuine workplace flexibility to achieve work/life balance.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.

The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
