- HEWL 8: $105,790 - $121,481 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation.
As a Senior Media Liaison Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and enhancing JCU's reputation through your expertise in media management. Your responsibilities will include advising senior management on current and emerging media issues, analysing media coverage, and recommending strategies for addressing potential challenges. You'll also collaborate with senior leaders, academic staff, and researchers to identify opportunities to showcase JCU's research and achievements, and developing compelling media releases and events to reach a broad audience.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Qualifications in media or a related field, coupled with extensive relevant experience, ideally gained from a background in journalism and / or public relations.
- Your track record should demonstrate your ability to develop and execute high-quality strategic media campaigns that consistently yield tangible results.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills are a must, allowing you to work efficiently and meet deadlines, even in high-pressure situations, with impeccable attention to detail.
- Your strong problem-solving skills should shine through, showcasing your ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and creativity when addressing complex issues.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as you'll be interacting with a broad range of stakeholders including academic and research staff, senior management, students, and journalists.
- It is preferable if you have prior experience in media and / or public relations, particularly in reputational management.
- A track record of creating compelling social media content that engages audiences and advances key messaging objectives, including photography and video skills would be highly desirable.
