About the role
TMO Unit provides overall management and central monitoring of Interns and Trainee Medical Officers (TMOs) across CALHN. This department oversees the recruitment and allocation of Trainee Medical Officers and is responsible for the management and coordination of a complete Medical Administration service to maximise the efficient recruitment, employment, retention and rostering across CALHN.
The Senior Administration Officer works with limited direction, exercises judgement and decision making in the delivery of a broad range of Medical Services including International Medical Graduates (IMGs).
The incumbent will work collaboratively with a range of CALHN staff including Executive Director Medical Service, Medical Leads, Human Resources Operations to provide expert advice on operational management of IMGs. In addition, they will develop collaborative relationships with key personnel from all other SA Health Local Health Networks, Department of Health & Wellbeing, SA Medical Education & Training Unit (SA MET), the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA), SA Salaried Medical Officers Association (SASMOA) and the Department of Immigration.
These support functions to the Medical Services Team Leader and Medical Leads include but not limited to medical rosters; recruitment, rotational requirements and leave management. This requires working closely with Medical Leads and/or line managers to identify and achieve shared organisational goals.
- Provide expert advice and opinion to staff pertaining to the policy and procedures for credentialling and relevant literature for defining scope of practice.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with medical staff regarding Awards and Agreements
- Assist in the preparation of the application forms for credentialling; ensuring sufficient time is allocated in order for consultants to submit the required documentation associated with the application.
- Ensure support staff are aware of the process of capturing data and the importance of accuracy in order to provide an accurate representation of the application tracking process
- Experience in providing a confidential clerical and administrative support service
- Experience in working in a team as well as autonomously
- Experience in a diverse range of human resource functions including recruitment and selection, employment contracts and changes to working conditions
- Experience in working with the suite of office tools (inc Word, Excel etc.)
