In the role of Senior Technical Writer (or Senior Medical Writer), you will work closely with a local team of Medical Writers and Creatives to inspire, develop and deliver projects that are supported by strong strategic and conceptual thinking across a variety of disease states.
You will have the ability to research, strategically plan and write both technical and creative content for a range of marketing collateral across a spectrum of health-related brands and audiences. You will be required to apply and share your knowledge and skills with clients to help them solve problems and to help build client/agency trust and relationships.
Role Responsibilities
• Medical writing for a variety of formats (including but not limited to): promotional materials, educational material and programmes, conference/meeting reports, slides sets, advisory board minutes and primary manuscripts. The target audience includes GPs, specialists, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, patients and carers
• Reading/analysis of clinical papers for relevant citations and data, referencing of agency-produced materials to clinical papers/sources and proof-reading & copyediting of all materials
• Liaising with KOL and other HCPs to deliver projects
• Communication and proactive contact with clients (both marketing and medical staff) when required
• Present complex data or messages in a strategically clear, succinct, compelling manner to clients
• Contribute to communication strategies/key issues identification (e.g. SWOT analyses and brand platform briefs)
• Serve as point of authority and/or source of strategic advice for therapeutic areas
Desired experience
• 7+ years’ experience as a Medical Writer in an advertising agency, or in the pharmaceutical sector
• Life sciences degree (preferably a Masters, MD, PhD or BPharm)
• Understanding of the medical and pharmaceutical sectors and codes/guidelines
• Proficient computer skills
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to think strategically, creatively and innovatively
• Flexible, able to work collaboratively or independently
• Good organisational skills and acute attention to detail
• Calm under pressure
