About The Role:

As an experienced Senior Medium Term Planning Engineer, you will lead a team of Mining Engineers to deliver high quality Medium Term strategic and operating mine plans for the underground mine.

You will also work with other teams to ensure plans are aligned with the future direction of the underground mine by identifying and addressing critical issues and opportunities in the context of ‘Life of Asset' goals for our Prominent Hill Mine Operations.

Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)

Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off; 4 days on; 3 days off

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

In this role you will:

• Generate review and approval of Mine Development Plans (MDPs) for all Capital and Operating development designs
• Provide guidance in the generation, review and approval of Stope Notes/Block Notes to ensure safe production in line with mining schedule
• Monitor the underground mine planning process to ensure safety standards, regulations, and best practice mine design criteria are met and maintained.
• Maintain QA/QC on the mine planning standards and processes.
• Management of Deswik software suite including MDM, licence renewals and updates.
• Audit and continually improve mine planning processes and systems.
• Maintain a mine design tracking tool which is used to identify bottlenecks in the mine schedule
• Guide and communicate frequently with operational teams to ensure milestones are achieved on time within scope and budget

About You:

• Demonstrative experience working in underground, hard rock, metalliferous mining
• Previous experience working in a sub-level open stoping mine
• Minimum 12 months UG practical experience completed
• Proven experience in mine design and scheduling in sub-level open stoping
• Motivated and self-directed
• Ability to work in high pressure and dynamic environments
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
• Actively promote safe production
• Ability to work independently in office and underground
• MS Office, INX and Deswik suite software experience

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering
• SA Driver's Licence or equivalent
• Current National Police check (NPC)
