The OpportunityOur Automation Engineers within Asset Lifecycle and Planning team, specialise in the delivery, maintenance and optimisation of assets across their lifecycle, from design to disposal. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will provide expertise and guidance in the development of Asset Class strategies, asset design manuals, functional requirements and projects scopes. Success in this role will require exceptional technical skills, underpinned by strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills that enables you to clearly articulate your ideas and engage with peers for collaboration.
You will also be responsible for:
- Development of relevant Asset Management technical deliverables
- Development and improvement of design philosophy, design standards and manuals
- Provide specialist technical support and oversight for whole of life asset and infrastructure systems from concept to disposal
- Build & maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide coaching and support to less experienced team members
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 7+ years' experience in transmission or distribution networks
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline
- Advanced knowledge and experience of SCADA/Substation Automation System construction and commissioning is essential
- Advanced knowledge of DNP3 and IEC 61850 substation network communication standards
- Good knowledge of asset management techniques and practices
- Advanced knowledge of legislated industry requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders to resolve technical problems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to enable you to provide commercially sound and pragmatic solutions
- Flexible and collaborative approach
