AddressThe Mt Cuthbert Group acquired the Leichhardt Project in 2013, located at the remote Mount Cuthbert Mine, near the township of Kajabbi, North West Queensland, and situated approx. 110km north east of Mount Isa. In 2020, the group acquired the Rocklands site, approx. 17km west of Cloncurry.
This position will be located at the Rocklands project, however there is potential for the successful applicant to be located across the 2 projects. Reporting to the Process Manager, and working as part of the process team you will optimize and maximize metal production through the process plant to ensure the strategic targets are achieved.
About You
You must love variety. Your time will be spent maximizing high quality metal production as you will be actively involved in the ongoing operation of the Process Plant at the Rocklands site and oversee metallurgical requirements for Mt Cuthbert.

You will provide expert guidance to the metallurgy and lab team and contribute to the development of an operational procedures and plan for the Rocklands Plant.

Your great PC skills will mean you will be responsible for your own administration, including overseeing the metallurgical accounting of the Flotation circuit. You will have the resolve to be self directed and work unsupervised and be able to provide accurate and comprehensive board level reports.
To be successful you will need to have:
- Proven abilities in all aspects of managing and running base metals processing plants with recent and demonstrable exposure to crushing circuits, ball mills, copper concentrator flotation circuits and reagent management.
- Exposure to and knowledge of heap leach and SX-EW copper processing also advantageous.
- Knowledge and understanding of copper mining and processing.
- Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
- S1, S2, S3 Site Safety Supervisors Course and demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated understanding of Metallurgical Accounting
- Advanced MS Office skills – in particular MS Excel
- Manual drivers licence

The role is offered as an 8/6 FIFO position from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns or DIDO Mt Isa or Cloncurry with meals & accommodation provided at the Cloncurry camp. For those choosing to live in Cloncurry, a residential allowance applies.
