About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Technical Services, in this site-based leadership role, you will be responsible for:

  • Minimising the team's safety risk exposure;
  • Delivering grade-tonnage reconciliation;
  • Building best practice processes and procedures;
  • Developing the mine geology budget planning;
  • Leading improvement projects.
  • Provide safety leadership in promoting a safe and environmentally responsible working ethic, leading to an incident free workplace
  • Demonstrate the Rio Tinto values of courage, care, and curiosity

What you will bring

With tertiary qualifications in Geology, you will have demonstrated experience within an open cut mining environment (preferably iron ore) and be able to utilise reconciliation trends to highlight impacts on the mine plan and improve future grade predictions.

You will have a working knowledge of mining and business software and the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Prior experience leading a team of technical professionals will be highly regarded.

This position is located at our Yandi mining operations on a FIFO 8 days on, 6 days off roster from Perth, however those candidates in pursuit of flexible work arrangements or alternative rosters are encouraged to apply.
