Job description:
We are now seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our corporate office in South Brisbane to provide mine planning support to current project and tender submissions. You will work in accordance with the company values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide short term planning resources and support as required for the operating sites
- Support existing operations through the regular review and implementation of medium and longer term mine plans, aimed at achieving as a minimum the project estimate mine plan
- Assist in the start-up of new projects and operations
- Regularly conduct reviews of the relevant technical and operating advances in the industry to ensure the competitiveness of the methods employed in mine planning
- Participate in the review, study and implementation of mine planning activities and improvement of systems for the mine operations
- Participate in site-based projects aimed at achieving industry best practice
- Assist in the supply of mine planning and design services for use in the preparation of mining proposals and tenders
- Verify mine planning data used in the preparation of tenders to ensure uniformity and accuracy
- Occasional site travel
Profile description:
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in mining or civil engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years' open cut experience
- Experience in the design and operating aspects of coal and/or hard rock mines
- Computer literate, with particular experience using mine planning software
- Technical and analytical skills in relation to mining activities and mining equipment
- Strong writing skills
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel to sites as required
