My client is a highly productive, tier-1 mining house that owns and operates a large portfolio of mining operations in Australia. My client is a significant player in the global resources industry and has a considerable influence on commodity markets. Like many other major mining companies, my client has a significant presence in coal mining with key large-scale metallurgical coal mining assets in QLD.
The Opportunity
They are looking to appoint a Senior Mining Engineer at their dragline, truck/shovel operation in QLD. The mining operation itself has a significantly long mine life and a number of projects in the pipeline to further expand mining operations. This is a dragline planning-focusedSenior Mining Engineer position.
The position can be FIFO Brisbane on a 4/3 (Monday to Thursday) roster. Additionally, should the preferred candidate look to be DIDO or Residential, these are options that are available too (with housing/accommodation provided).
Responsibilities
- Guide, mentor, and enable your small team of disciplinary Mining Engineers across dragline planning,
- Lead the planning and scheduling of dragline operations to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity,
- Analyse the performance of dragline operations by monitoring key performance indicators such as production rates, cycle times, and fuel consumption,
- Prioritise safety protocols to ensure that dragline operations are conducted in compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards,
- Work to optimise the productivity and efficiency of mining operations. This includes monitoring production rates, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing strategies to improve performance,
- Seek opportunities for process optimisation and continuous improvement in dragline operations. This may involve implementing new technologies, refining operating procedures, or introducing best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, or similar/relevant degree,
- Experience as a Dragline Planner (Mining Engineer),
- Open pit design and planning experience would be held in high regard too (due to future mine projects in the pipeline),
- Must live/work/reside in AU - Must have full working AU rights.
