Applications are invited for the role of Senior Mininng Engineer - Open Pit to commence on a permanent full-time basis. Working a FIFO roster of 8:6 roster ex Perth and reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Senior Mining Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and technical support & engineering supervision during all mining project phases.
To be considered relevant tertiary qualifications, OP mining experience with a contracting entity, are essential. Additionally demonstrated experience in mine scheduling and relevant software packages such as Surpac or Deswik, will be highly regarded.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide and implement designs, including pit and dump design, dozer push, rehabilitation, and water management designs.
- Coordinate plans and schedules and monitoring of actual progress with benchmarks
- Assist in the management of the weekly dig/dump plans
- Implementation and compliance of the Weekly Plan and site Safety Health and Environmental standards to ensure safe and sustainable mine standards
- Provide information to relevant staff to assist in the End of Month reporting requirements.
- Providing guidance and input into the drill and blast requirements
- Manage costs to budget and be accountable for regular forecasting and rectifying variances
- Manage the Management of Change process for assigned projects
- Drive continuous improvement.
- Overseeing project scope and personnel whilst supporting site PM
- Training and development of Mine Engineer
About you:
- Tertiary qualification/s in Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Min 4 years open pit mining experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in a contractor supplier organisation within the mining or associated industry.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and software packages such as Surpac or Deswik.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Able to successfully complete a comprehensive pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screen.
- Provide a current police clearance (minimum within 12 months of issue date).
