The role of Senior Mining Engineer – Open Pit is responsible for delivering technical services support across both planning and production for the mining operation.
The Details
The Senior Mining Engineer is responsible for planning and directing various engineering aspects of the mine. The incumbent responsible for optimising drill/blast designs to minimise dilution and to maximise gold recovery. Addition responsibilities will provide leadership, technical input and supervision of the Open Pit Quarry Mining Operations. Leadership in safety is paramount, whilst also upholding Company values, health and environment standards and complying with policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
Safety & compliance, development, production and associated cost and budgeting, design and scheduling of mine activities, and of course supervision of staff and contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Mining Engineering (essential)
- Quarry Managers certificate (v. desirable)
- C Class drivers licence (essential)
- Police clearance (essential)
- G3 Risk Assessment Certificate (preferred).
- Current Australian MR Class drivers licence with no restrictions
- 7-10 years’ experience working within an open pit mining environment required.
- 3+ years minimum experience working within a gold mining environment desirable.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Software – Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Mining / Mine Planning Software experience (essential)
- Supervisory skills as per Applicable Training requirements (Essential)
