Robert Walters is currently recruiting a Senior Mining Engineer/Technical Superintendent to join a leading mining company on a full time, permanent position on an 8:6 FIFO roster.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Manager - Projects & Technical Services, your responsibilities as Senior Mining Engineer/Technical Superintendent include but not limited to:
- Complete Project studies that are assigned, ensuring quality delivery within agreed time-frames.
- Mine optimisation & identifying business improvement opportunities, including future operations and processes.
- Produce practical mine designs for long term projects including the type of infrastructure and development required.
- Review applications of different mining methods and asses the impact of the economic viability of the project. Provide recommendations where required.
- Complete LOM schedules (3 - 10YR), assessing various pit sequencing and staging options to identify and provide options with best outcomes.
- Update and report Open Pit Ore Reserves at least once a year.
- Review, update and maintain cost models that are used for project economic evaluations.
- Assist with preparation of budgets when required.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Open Pit mining development and production operations
- At least 5 years experience in mining (Senior Mining Engineer), 8 years plus with at least 2 years experience as a team lead for the Technical Superintendent.
- Understanding of mine planning, Mining Engineering and geology.
- Mining development and production technology.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
