 Senior Network Administrator 

  • Location Parramatta CBD with access to hybrid work arrangements
  • Full time temporary role for up to 12 months (35 hours per week)
  • Salary from $120,859 to $133,183 pa. + super and annual leave loading

Your role

In this role you will be, implementing, commissioning and configuring network hardware and infrastructure, maintaining and supporting our growing network infrastructure while maintaining the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) networks, across multiple locations, platforms and technologies.

What you’ll do

As the Senior Network Administrator you will be responsible for Designing and configuring network protocols to allow for complex audio and video installation using Dante/Qsys/Crestron NVX multicasting to operate within the interconnected  DCJ network. You will also be responsible for:

  • Executing new hardware upgrades, and/or refresh and replacement of network infrastructure and hardware.
  • Managing and  setting-up activities for large-scale or complex configuration changes or deployments and ensure systems related information, system interfaces, integrations, hardware and software requirements are mapped and current and updated/referenced in the Asset and/or Configuration Item (CI) records in agreed Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., access points,  routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations, when required
  • Maintaining complete technical documentation for all installations and replacements.
  • Attend DCJ sites across NSW to physically install and replace new and redundant network hardware as well as carryout network configuration of the hardware both remote and onsite as per project and BAU requirements.
  • Perform site audits to identify site upgrade requirements, perform quality audits of vendor installations where required at DCJ Network Sites.

What we’re looking for

An experienced individual who is motivated by outcomes and building strong relationships. To be considered for this role, your background and experience must meet the following criteria :

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with the applicable technology platform, with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
  • A valid driver’s licence may be required to travel to and from the Data Centre and on site client support
