The Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Perth office. You will actively contribute to Swift achieving its mission and vision through a commitment to excellence in consulting, design, and delivery functions.
The vacant position is part of our amazing Engineering team who are critical in our success. This team collaboratively provide significant input throughout multiple other departments such as Project Delivery, Service Delivery and Product Development.
This role requires someone with excellent communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, sound analytical and time management skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
Key duties include:
- Leading the engineering component of Projects, including validating SOWs, building execution plans, creating system designs and test plans for our Entertainment and Network Solutions.
- Creating and maintaining engineering documentation through CMP systems.
- Support the Project Delivery team in achieving their client deliverables and meeting Swift’s quality standards.
- Provide advice and mentoring to junior Engineers and Technicians.
- Performing site audits and system health checks to identify risks and issues and provide recommendations.
- Provide input and guidance to our Product and R&D teams.
- Actively research and stay up to date on existing and emerging technologies relevant to Swift and our clients.
- Occasional travel to customer sites throughout Australia.
Qualifications and Experiences
Essential
- At least 5 years of experience in a Project Engineering role.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing wired networks, including Layer3 routing and switching, designing of subnetting, routing protocols, firewall policy creation and management.
- At least 3 years of experience designing, implementing, and reviewing wireless networks, including performing desktop studies, passive site surveys and active site surveys.
- CCNA or CCNP (preferred) Routing, Switching and Wireless, or equivalent.
- Proficient documentation and communication skills.
Desirable
- MATV and Satellite TV design experience including coaxial distribution systems, IPTV, and STB to DVB-T modulation architecture.
- Knowledge of fibre technology and fibre distribution network.
- GPON design and configuration experience.
Candidates must have the right to work in Australia, a current police clearance, valid driver’s license and be able to travel.
