About the role:
As a Network (Electricity Grid) Planning Engineer, your role will support leading the development of the electricity supply network to safely meet supply requirements, optimising costs, capacity, network performance and network losses.
- Design, develop, and implement electrical engineering solutions for a variety of projects.
- Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations of electrical systems.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest electrical engineering standards and technologies.
A little about you:
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on distribution networks.
- Have a strong working knowledge of distribution networks, zone substations, and operations.
- You stay up-to-date on Network Planning standards and technical developments in the electricity industry.
- You have detailed knowledge of IT systems used for Network Planning purposes (load flow packages).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications and certifications:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or higher in engineering
- Entitling membership to Engineers Australia
- Higher qualification in technical or business related field desirable
