SalaryMater Health is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Occupational Therapist for a permanent full-time opportunity in Acute Medical services.
You will be joining an acute team who service the occupational therapy needs of five Mater Brisbane Hospitals (Mater Hospital Brisbane, Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Mater Mothers' Hospital, Mater Mothers' Private Brisbane and Mater Children's Private Brisbane). We also provide outpatient services within the Allied Health Clinic (public outpatients) and Health & Wellness Clinic (private outpatients).
Salary range: $60.01 - $64.54 (HP Level 4) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging
What you'll be doing
- Deliver consistently high-level evidence-based occupational therapy, with a high degree of independence according to prescribed professional and ethical standards in the Acute Medical Unit.
- Provide and promote Occupational Therapy services that are cost effective and innovative that advance patient health outcomes and enhance patient access to quality occupational therapy services.
- Implement innovative solutions to facilitate acute patient management and rapid discharge planning to optimise patient outcomes and flow.
- Contribute to the enhancement / modification of existing services based on the most up to date evidence.
- Efficiently and effectively optimise patient outcomes to support the multidisciplinary continuum of care.
- Initiate, participate in and provide professional development activities to promote a learning culture within the team.
- Contribute to the clinical supervision of HP3 Occupational Therapists, OT assistants and students, supporting the development of clinical reasoning and therapeutic intervention in both routine and non-routine Medical and Geriatric conditions.
The successful applicant will possess:
- A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Current full registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- At least three years' experience, knowledge, and expertise as an Occupational Therapist with post graduate experience in treating patients within an Emergency, Medical Assessment Unit or similar setting.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work cohesively within the multidisciplinary team and provide patient centred care.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional Occupational Therapy clinical services of a complex nature, manage a varying caseload from day to day and provide relevant clinical handover.
