About the role
It is the purpose of this role to provide high level consultation, advice, support and leadership for staff within Metro North Mental Health working with consumers with concurrent substance use and mental health problems, to enhance the availability and access to appropriate early interventions and specialist treatment options.
This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North values:
- Ensure consumers, carers and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.
- Deliver high level clinical consultation for consumers with complex Dual Diagnosis issues including assessment, diagnosis and input into treatment planning, promoting application of evidence-based care, with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
- Contribute to the skill development of mental health service staff and key stakeholders to respond to people with Dual Diagnosis concerns by co-ordinating the provision of quality information and evidence-based education programs.
- Deliver high level support and clinical leadership for staff in mental health services, alcohol and drug services, and other relevant stakeholders from government and non-government organisations who support people with complex Dual Diagnosis concerns.
