Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision, knowledge and updates to clinicians on changes within occupational therapy
- Provide regular support and engage in professional development to junior therapists
- Assist in developing and providing induction to new graduates
- Complete a varied caseload managing a variety of NDIS.
- Work towards KPI’s to manage caseload and clinical caseload
- To be a competent independent practitioner, operating autonomously to provide assessments and therapy to participants of the NDIS
- To exercise independent professional knowledge and judgement whilst providing novel, complex or critical clinical services to NDIS participants of various ages (2-65yrs) and various disabilities (I.e Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, rare genetic disorder, development delay, and neurological conditions I.e. brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis) with opportunity to specialize in caseloads of your choice.
- Responsible for providing efficient, cost-effective and timely delivery of services at participants homes, schools, or in clinic as best suited to the participants needs and your personal preferences.
- Be an integral part of a dynamic and collaborative team working towards common goals
- Manage non-clinical time effectively to ensure letters, reports, and phone calls are all completed in a timely and professional manner.
Key Requirements:
- Passion and experience for working with people living with disability with high needs is a must.
- Able to follow procedure and ensure the clients’ personal preferences are adhered to.
- Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Certificate of resignation with the Occupational Therapy Board AHPRA
- Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities.
- Reliable character
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Confident communicator who can maintain professional boundaries with clients and their families.
- Knowledge of NDIS practice standards and funding model is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Impeccable time management and multi-tasking abilities
- Solid computer literacy and capacity to use cloud-based software is essential
- 5+ years experience is highly desirable
The following will also be required of successful applicants:
- Drivers license & willingness to work between the Clinic and Community
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Working with children check (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screen & Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate or provide medical certificate
