About the Opportunity
The Community Health Team at SWSLHD are looking for a driven, enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist to lead their highly skilled team.
This role is a truly unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in the area. You will be a compassionate, understanding and adaptable person who is ready to become a leader. We are looking for someone who can guide and mentor the team based on their experience and understanding of Paediatric Occupational Therapy. You will have experience in leading a team through a complex case load as well as service development and be passionate about your role and your team. The role will require someone who can think outside the square and is flexible in their approach and who can become a person of influence in the team and grow the service.
You will be working with a small team who are highly supportive of each other. You will have great communication skills and be ready to progress both your own career and skills but also empower your team. You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and network within the wider healthcare team whilst educating the future OT's in Paediatrics. The management team are always available to provide you with advice and you will be able to build your skills with the assistance of the service director and head of occupational therapy.
This role is a rare opportunity for you to utilise your Occupational Therapy experience in managing a small case load of clients whilst developing your leadership skills for the future.

The senior occupational therapist provides clinical governance, leadership and expertise within occupational therapy services including the provision of safe, timely, compassionate and high quality person-centered care.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy paediatric services, developmental assessments and working with neurodiverse paediatric populations
Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence based practice and/or development of treatment protocols
Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills
Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs
