Job description

About Us

We are a vibrant, family-run practice in Western Sydney and are passionate about supporting people with disabilities and their families. Our multidisciplinary team includes Occupational Therapists, speech therapists, physiotherapists (for people and pets), feeding therapists, a counsellor, a music therapist, and a fabulous admin team. We also have some staff pets training to participate in animal-assisted therapy!

Why Work at Whole Family Health?
  • Staff Retention: We believe it speaks volumes about how well we look after our team that so many of our therapists started with us as new graduates and are still with us many years later! When people do leave, it tends to be because their visas have expired or they are relocating. We'd love you to stay as long as you like and will do all we can to keep you loving working with us!
  • Daily Routine: Each day starts and finishes with 15 minutes to set up and pack away, so you don't start your day rushed and can leave work behind you when you finish for the day. All appointments are booked for you by our fabulous admin team.
  • Scheduled Non-Face-to-Face Time: To reduce cognitive load and keep you on your A-Game, we schedule 15mins between every client for notes and set-up. Your reporting time is also scheduled, so there's no late-night unpaid report writing to be done.
  • Reliable Income: We pay your hourly rate for all rostered hours, whether your clients attend or not. As a valued employee, you are paid sick leave, annual leave and superannuation - banks love our employment certificates should you apply for a home or car loan while working with us!
  • Additional Compensation: As well as a competitive wage, we provide a $1000 (pro rata) professional development budget and one week of paid study leave per calendar year - no need to dip into your annual leave!
  • Genuinely Flexible Schedule: Full- and part-time hours available. Although your roster is consistent from week to week, we don't set it without consulting you. If you have sports, family, or recreational commitments on Wednesday nights, for example, then we'll make sure we roster you to finish early enough every Wednesday so you can meet those commitments!
  • Work From Home, In-Clinic, and In The Community: We'd say it's the best of both worlds, but there are more than 2 options! Regardless, each week you can mix the benefits of quiet time at home, the support of being in a multidisciplinary clinic, and the variety of venturing out into the community, if that's what you wish to do.
  • Autonomy: When working from home, YOU choose the hours that suit your work-life balance. In sessions, YOU'RE the one who decides what's clinically appropriate, not some pencil pusher who has never met your client! Most importantly, we've got your back if someone tries to pressure you to provide a service or product you're not comfortable with.
  • Supportive Environment: We have an open-door policy – full support, any time, from the bookings and management teams, and the opportunity to seek help from other therapists in your clients' team when we all return to the staff room between sessions.
  • Social Squad: We're sure you'll agree our Social Squad was one of our best ideas ever! Our trusty trio organise everything from our Christmas Party to our Pre-Wedding Send-Offs. We also have Final Friday Fun, but be warned - some of us get a little competitive when the fun involves trivia!
  • Manageable Workloads: NO KPIs; we Work with you to determine a sustainable caseload aligned with your capacity and experience. We also schedule dedicated time for session planning each week. You should NEVER be working more than your rostered hours to get your job done well!
  • Interest-Based Caseloads: We encourage our therapists to indicate on our waitlist any clients they would particularly love to Work with! Whether it be certain ages, diagnoses, or just a desire for variety, build a caseload that interests YOU. We also love supporting therapists to explore new areas of interest and keenly build these into our service offerings.
  • State-of-the-Art Therapy Facilities: Choose from over 30 therapy rooms, with engaging features like pillow pits, rock-climbing walls, trampolines, ziplines, swings, a feeding room, and more!
  • Toy Library: Our massive toy library contains almost every toy, game, and book you can think of! If you see a need for things we don't yet have, we’re open to acquiring them!
  • All Assessment Tools Provided: Whether it's the M-Fun, the BOT, the Vineland, the Beery, or anything in between, we've got it and will happily teach you how to use it!
  • Comfortable Staff Amenities: Free, privately fenced parking, and spacious staff areas with amenities like a kitchenette, conference room, and staff-only bathroom.
  • Family Feel: We're a family-run business that values your voice and experience; here, you're not just an employee, you're part of our extended family. Of course, our former family members are always welcome to come back to visit us - the newer team members enjoy putting faces to the names from the stories they hear from yesteryear!
  • Pets Welcome: Bring your pet to work – either for enjoyment or, if suitable, integrate them into animal-assisted therapy sessions!
  • Comprehensive Supervision: Our supervision program starts with an assessment of your learning style and strengths. From this, we Work with you to develop learning goals in each of the Clinical, Personal, Professional, and Organisational domains. Supervision is a mixture of discipline-specific and interdisciplinary; individual and group; and in-person and remote, depending on your specific needs. In addition to:
    • Daily whole-team case conferences;
    • Weekly discipline team meetings;
    • and weekly multidisciplinary-team-time,
    • therapists receive individual structured supervision sessions each year.
The Role
  • We have multiple opportunities for passionate Occupational Therapists with at least two years of experience to join our high-functioning team.
  • You will assess and treat a primarily paediatric caseload of diverse backgrounds, with the occasional teen and adult if desired. Sessions can be individual, or joint with another allied health professional.
  • We are eager to support our therapists in pursuing their strengths and areas of interest and will willingly build this into your role.
Get in Touch!

We know how hard it can be to choose your next position, so we even have references from former staff members to assure you that we're really as good as we sound! If you’d like to see these or would prefer to have a confidential chat about the role, please call us on 02 9833 3*** or email *******@wholefamilyhealth.com.au. Otherwise, please apply at the link in this Seek ad so we can arrange to meet you!
