Where you'll be working
You will be a senior member of the Occupational Therapy Outpatients Team within the Ambulatory Care Centre at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) St. Leonards and a member of the wider dynamic Occupational Therapy Department. RNSH is a 634 bed tertiary referral centre and is close to the CBD with transport facilities, accommodation, recreational and child care facilities available.
What you'll be doing
You will be providing clinical governance, leadership and expertise as part of the outpatient OT Lymphoedema clinic and limited inpatient caseload service provision. This position is responsible for service development and evaluation and advanced clinical reasoning and practise skills in the management of clients of a complex nature with Lymphoedema. You may also be responsible for the supervision, teaching and training of level 1-3 Occupational Therapists, OT Assistants, and students.
This position will be based within the Occupational Therapy department at Royal North Shore, and provides an excellent opportunity for professional development, supervision and to work within a tertiary level hospital setting. This position will also contribute to the Occupational Therapy department’s weekend roster on an occasional rotational basis supported by the Acute Care Team Senior as required.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Full registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. Recent, extensive and varied post-graduate clinical experience as a level 2 Occupational Therapist or above.
- Demonstrated experience in, leading, initiating, mentoring, completing and presenting quality improvement activities, research and service evaluation process. Extensive experience in clinical teaching and supervision for students and allied health.
- Extended lymphoedema skills and specialised knowledge in the provision of current clinical Occupational Therapy practice. Ability to take responsibility for the delivery of evidence-based practice for consumers, carers and families.
