Senior Officer Digital Marketing

Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $93,611, plus up to 13% superannuation

Role Overview

The Officer Digital Marketing is responsible for the planning, executing and analysing of Digital Marketing campaigns, whilst ensuring traditional media aligns, to promote Gympie Regional Council’s products and services online.

Reporting to the Coordinator Marketing and Communications, the role will be responsible for developing and implementing Digital Marketing strategies and contributing to the business development, marketing and communications functions to enhance the visibility and support the strategic, social and commercial objectives. 

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or experience in Digital Marketing, with a history of high success.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing content for digital channels and adhering to style guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, creating content, and delivering Digital Marketing campaigns and adhering to style guidelines.
  • Clear track record of expertise leading content strategies and an understanding of SME/ SEO and digital strategies.
  •  Ability to quickly understand, simplify, synthesise and communicate complex concepts in a digital environment.
  • Understanding of the principles of website development including user centered design, usability, accessibility, information architecture and content management.
  • Experience with managing web publishing technologies including content management systems. Digital platforms – fluent in using different platforms to maximise company brand and market positioning.
  • 5 years’ experience in a marketing or communication role or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Firm understanding of brand development, layout and style guides.
  • Be a leader and a doer from a strong marketing operation background.
  • Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence that is current and maintained.

Essential Requirements: 

  • Develop and oversee a Council wide digital content management plan across department activities to drive measurable improvements in brand awareness, social media engagement, service utilisation, and revenue generation.
  • Lead the development and implementation of marketing efforts across various digital channels including websites, social media accounts, video hosting sites.
  • Responsible for the implementation, coordination and maintenance of Council’s digital mediums, in addition to supporting the continued growth of Council’s social and digital media communications including websites, video content, apps, social media platforms.
  • Writing and coordinating approvals and meeting deadlines for digital content and other documentation as requested
  • Ensure legislative compliance for digital archiving and the software which may require an EOI process. Assist the Manager, Marketing, Communications and Economic Development to successfully deliver key projects and activities as required.
