Lower North Shore Older People’s Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is a specialised clinical service. The Lower North Shore (LNS) Clinical Senior is responsible for the provision of a expert clinical input and consultancy service to LNS OPMHS consumers and associated partner services.

What you'll be doing
The OPMHS senior clinician is an expert clinician who functions at an advanced level associated with OPMHS. The actions of the clinician are directed towards achieving improvements in clinical practice, standards of care and improved outcomes for older consumers and their carers. The Senior Clinician acts as a leader in health care and utilises an evidence base, contemporary theories of practice and clinical coaching to foster a learning environment and facilitate clinical and professional development of clinicians across the OPMHS speciality.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Recognised Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or Occupational Therapy with registration with AHPRA or membership to AASW. Social Workers and Occupational Therapists Level 3 require minimum experience at Level 2. Clinical Psychologists require master's degree and registration requirements. Clinical Nurse Specialist means with post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and leadership in management of older people with complex Mental Health issues and psychiatric disorders and associated behaviours.
- Competence in responding to crisis/ acute presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with a broad range of service providers.
