As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we provide a range of public health services to the Nepean and Blue Mountains and Lithgow Region.The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute Mental Health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.An opportunity has become available to join our Triage and Assessment team. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work collaboratively with ED, PECC, Access, and inpatient staff across all settings triaging consumers ensuring they are assessed and treated in the most suited environment to meet their individualised needs. - Demonstrated experience working with people presenting with an acute Mental Health problem
- Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills with proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team within minimal direct clinical supervision
- Proven effective high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to exercise independent professional judgement when solving problems
- Working knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with consumers and carers regarding Mental Health care
- An understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health and the ability to implement these within clinical practice
- Current drivers licence, including P1 or above, and willingness to use same for work purposes
