We are seeking a talented Senior Pastry Chef to serve as the Second in Command, working closely with the Head Pastry Chef to oversee our pastry department's operations. This role is critical in ensuring the production of high-quality pastries while maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and plan innovative recipes to continuously offer on the menu.
- Collaborate with the Head Pastry Chef to create and update pastry menus, considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and dietary restrictions.
- Supervise pastry production, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain ingredient availability.
- Develop and refine recipes to ensure consistency in taste presentation.
- Train and coach pastry staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork alongside the highest quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and contribute to developing a Food Safety System.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role, with demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong knowledge of pastry production techniques, recipes, and ingredients
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and lead a team
- Understanding of WHS legislation and food safety standards
