The Venue
Welcome to Coogee Pavilion, or as the locals call it, ‘The Pav'. The ground floor is perfect for family get-togethers and casual meals. The menu itself has been created with seaside dining and nostalgia in mind; the pastry offering currently includes a pineapple, coconut and lime pavlova and our take on a ‘gaytime'. With sweeping ocean views it is a great location to change gears into holiday mode, even if just for an afternoon.
The Role
We are looking for a driven and knowledgeable SeniorPastry Chef to join the team at Coogee. You will work closely with the head chef in developing the pastry offering and will own the pastry section. This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to take their passion and creativity to the next level and have input into the offering.
Our ideal candidate has:
- A passion for all things pastry related
- Work closely with the head chef to develop and enhance the pastry offering, incorporating seaside dining and nostalgic elements.
- Take ownership of the pastry section, ensuring the highest standards of execution and presentation.
- Train and supervise junior staff members, ensuring they are capable of autonomously handling pastry preparation.
- Maintain good communication with the kitchen team, and collaborate effectively with other chefs and staff members.
- Bring experience in a high-volume kitchen setting, showcasing strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate creativity and a passion for creating high-quality pastries and desserts.
