Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join their team and deliver accurate and high-quality payroll services to internal customers, ensuring proper compliance checks, providing advice on complex payroll matters and supporting and guiding others involved in processing fortnightly pays and human resource administration.
In this position, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the provision of compliant payroll services and guaranteeing adherence to statutory and legislative obligations. Collaborating closely with HR and management, you'll tackle challenging payroll issues such as workers' compensation, early retirement, leave balance transfers from other QLD government departments, overpayments, and underpayments, ensuring accurate entitlements and resolutions. This position will also assist with significant project work.
Moreover, you'll play a crucial role in testing payroll system service pack upgrades to safeguard seamless functionality. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, analytical prowess, resilience, and a collaborative spirit, alongside prior engagement in audit procedures. Proficiency in interpreting QLD government employment legislation and relevant directives to support payroll operations and advise on complex matters is essential. Proficiency in Aurion software, particularly in generating reports, is a must, with prior Queensland Government experience considered highly advantageous.
