Job description

Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) is a high-grade gold mine in Western Australia. The Bellevue mine has a forecasted 10+ year mine life producing over 200,000 Au Ozs for the first five years of production. Construction of the mill has recently been completed, with first gold pour completed in CY Q4 2023.

Underground mining has occurred since late 2020 to establish multiple mining fronts that de-risks the project in advance of underground production. The operation is an industry stand out with strong financial and ESG metrics underpinned by the exceptional grade of the project.

The Bellevue Gold Project is located approximately 30km north of Leinster township and sits in a major gold and nickel producing district. The Company has a highly skilled management team with a track record of exploration success and development of major gold mines.

This position is responsible for providing HR generalist support activities to the business, including employees, managers, contractors and any other relevant stakeholders. You will guide and support managers and employees in their understanding and application of people management programs and processes, including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, learning development and coaching.

This position is offered on a full-time basis, working 12 hours per day on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster at our Bellevue Gold Project outside of Leinster WA. 

Your main duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Recruitment and selection:
    • Support hiring managers with writing positions descriptions
    • Assist in the preparation and posting of employment advertising
    • Organise and conduct interviews with hiring managers
    • Prepare employment and salary related benchmarking and documentation
    • Onboarding of new employees
  • Performance Management – assist managers in performance issues through formal conversations, improvement plans
  • Remuneration and Benefits – review regularly and provide advice on industry trends and benchmarking
  • Research and participation in IR/HR projects as required
  • Support HR General Manager with strategic company HR initiates including roll out across remote work site
  • Involved in writing HR policies and corporate documentation
  • Ensure compliance to all HR and BGL Policies
  • Communicate and reinforce HR policies, including regular training where required
  • Probationary Reviews and Exit Interviews – ensure these are completed and recorded on personnel file
  • Maintain organisation charts
  • Prepare, update and maintain job description documentation as required
  • Maintain personnel files where necessary (paper and electronic)
  • Establish and maintain effective lines of communication within own department and organisation
  • Communicate with a range of people at different levels throughout the organisation to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of tasks being undertaken
  • Make timely decisions, to meet organisational objectives
  • Maximize performance through effective communication to optimize individual and team performance
  •  Provide Industrial and Employee Relations advice and support
  • Ensure compliance with any legislative Act(s) and/or regulations applicable to area of responsibility

Key Skills/Qualifications/Experience/Competencies: 

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant Human Resource Management discipline
  • Understand of general mining operations
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Well-developed time management skills - ability to manage and priorities several tasks at once
  • Excellent word processing and MS Office skills
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Well-developed literacy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Relations legislation
  • Understand of organisational structures and behaviours
  • Understand human resource processes and operations
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong, logical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines; and
  • Customer service focus
