Senior Pharmacist - Informatics
Grampians Health Ballarat
Permanent Part time - 16 hours per fortnight
Classification: Grade 3
About the role
This new postion will play a key role in the maintenance and implementation of IT systems being used across medication systems and pharmacy services at Grampians Health (GH).
The role will support, facilitate and / or coordinate pharmacy and medication related IT initiatives across GH including; informatics projects, reporting, and training. Key focus areas include – i.Pharmacy, pharmacy robotics system, electronic medical record and electronic prescribing.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation of new projects including; electronic drug registers, pharmacist robotics system, and i.Pharmacy integration between GH campuses.
- Support the maintenance of i.Pharmacy including reporting requirements.
- Develop and provide staff training for relevant pharmacy information systems
- Assist in the planning for future implementation of Automated Drug Storage Cabinets.
- Participation in the preliminary planning for implementation of EMR
Skills and experience
- Currently hold or be eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
- Experience in Hospital Pharmacy with experience working with hospital information systems.
- High degree of computer literacy, particularly use of pharmacy systems, spreadsheets, database management and reporting systems.
- Experience in project management and ability to implement change effectively.
