Senior Platform Engineer

We are a Software Engineering Professional Services company specialising in advanced software development for large enterprises and government. We work on the latest cutting-edge cloud-based backend solutions and are looking for talented Senior Platform Engineer Consultants to join our team. 

What we’re looking for 
We’re on the hunt for a Senior Platform Engineer with technical and personal skills to work with our Australian based customers. You will have experience in creating and maintaining cloud infrastructure based on public cloud provider platforms like Azure and AWS.

There is a lot to learn in this role, so a continuous improvement mindset with the aim of looking to automate everything and eliminating manual overhead is important.

Responsibilities 

The role is responsible for: 

• Working with customers in a consulting capacity, 
• End to end development of cloud infrastructure, 
• Drafting technical designs for implementation, 
• Contributing to DevOps / Platform standards, 
• Contributing to Security standards, 
• Being a leading contributor of a Scrum team, 
• Mentoring consultant and analyst level engineers, 
• Being a domain expert in platform Engineering, and 
• Keeping up to date with platform technologies, especially Microsoft relates

Mandatory Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Optional Qualifications 

• Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps related Certifications, 
• Vendor certifications for Platforms Engineering including Bicep, Terraform or other, or 
• Scrum Master

Mandatory Experience 

• Networking, 
• Virtualisation, 
• Logging, monitoring and alerting platforms, 
• Security directories (AD) & access control, 
• Windows and Linux Servers, 
• Documentation, 
• CI/CD tools and pipelines including YAML, 
• Infrastructure as Code Solutions (ARM Templates, Bicep or Terraform), 
• Container and container orchestration platforms (e.g. Kubernetes), 
• Working as part of a customer consulting team, and 
• Delivering software through a scrum framework

Bonus Experience 

• Cloud Infrastructure Management and Cost-optimisation, 
• Designing and developing resilient and secure consumptions patterns for cloud services, 
• Bash / PowerShell, 
• Technology consulting, 
• Scaled Agile delivery, 
• Large digital transformation programs, or 
• Finance industry
