About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Platform Monitoring and Controls (PM&C) Engineer to join our program based at Osborne, reporting to the PM&C Engineering Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and or hybrid working.
The individual on this role shall provide specialist engineering expertise to deliver significant aspects of engineering activity within the Hunter Class Platform Management & Control team. The individual shall also provide insights to ensure defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and cost.
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your ability to conduct thorough engineering analysis, offer preferred solutions and comprehend various factors impacting warship design within a dynamic team that supports and propels your development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define requirements for PM&C Hunter systems and variances to T26 system requirements
- Assess technical feasibility and risks of equipment designs
- Prepare interface specifications and ensure compliance with standards
- Collaborate with OEMs/ SMEs to provide engineering solutions from the PMS perspective and define/ update relevant interfaces
- Oversee physical integration within Wholeship 3D model and PMS compartments
- Create integrated Bill of Materials (iBOM) for PM&C Systems
- Manage Engineering Lifecycle, including Design Reviews and System Maturity Reviews
- Develop designs in line with specifications and quality standards
- Coordinate Set-to-Work (STW) activities for assigned areas
About YOU
- 4+ years demonstrated experience within the Engineering discipline with working knowledge in all or some of the following - product technology development, systems architecture design, technical requirements management.
- Bachelors of Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Aerospace or other relevant fields).
- Understanding of Systems Engineering practices and Engineering methods as applied to the development of military equipment and services
- Experience in effective use of Engineering Process, Methods, Tools and Infrastructure such as Jira, DOORS etc.
- Demonstrated technical document review and quality control experience
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
