Working within our centralised corporate PMO function (and being deployed to our business units), the purpose of this position is to lead the conduct of the Project Management Office (PMO) activities including Earned Value Management (EVM) to a contracted standard (i.e. AS4817:2006) with strategic and operational expertise on bids/projects/programs and/or a portfolio of projects of varying size and complexity within the Corporate, Business Domain/CBU.
This position can be based either in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane with some travel required for the role.
Some key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Leading the provision of project controls services, including baseline schedule development and management, performance status and reporting, cost management, baseline change control, risk management, estimating and associated tools.
- Supporting Bids and Projects with the PMO skill set of planners/schedulers, cost/schedule analyst’s, as well as appropriate structuring of projects to ensure clarity of project (including subcontracted) performance and accountability.
- Where applicable, develop and deploy Earned Value Management Plans (EVMP) with the required processes and training, to have an integrated Earned Value Management System (EVMS) including advice to Control Account Managers (CAMs) and co-ordination with customer, sub-contractor on internal surveillance activities to verify EVM and project compliance.
- When required, lead the preparation and conduct of Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) and all ongoing system and schedule Surveillance audits.
- Coordinates and implements project scope changes using established EVMS tools
- PMO experience in large-scale complex project or Significant experience as a Senior Project Manager or senior project management office professional
- Experience within an Engineering environment and the ability to liaise with technical engineering stakeholders is critical
- Solid and proven understanding of Earned Value Management including interpretation and analysis of Earned Value Performance Reports
- Demonstrable experience of managing projects in a multiple project, multi discipline environment.
- Primavera or Deltek Risk experience
- Sound understanding of PMI, PMBoK, ISO 9001 and related quality standards (ie. AS 1199), project lifecycle knowledge.
- Experience in Risk & Opportunity Management.
- Successful track record in Project Management, Contract Management, team building and Customer relationship management.
- Preparation and presentation of Project Review Reports, for both internal and external customers
