The Team
The position of Senior Policy Analyst forms a part of the Game Management Authority (GMA) and Strategy and Research Division. This Division is responsible for delivering the GMA's research program which supports providing evidence-based advice to Government on game management matters. The Division is also responsible for providing advice on policy issues and regulatory change to government stakeholders, and for managing the GMA's communications platforms and publications.
The Role
The Senior Policy Analyst is responsible for formulating and contributing to strategic and regulatory policy analysis and advice in relation to game management and game hunting in Victoria.
The Senior Policy Analyst provides expert advice to senior management, the GMA Board and other government entities on game management policy issues to support the achievement of government priorities and the Authority's objectives for sustainability and responsibility in game hunting.
About You
This position is well suited to a highly motivated, experienced policy professional with a strong track record in providing robust, timely, innovative and strategic policy advice on complex and challenging issues.
The successful applicant will have proven success in policy research, analysis and regulatory reform. Development and effective stakeholder engagement with proven experience in providing authoritative, sound, relevant and timely policy advice with the ability to forge productive relationships with government and external stakeholders.
A relevant tertiary qualification in public policy, science or natural resources would be well regarded, and a background in natural resource management, sound knowledge of and experience working in government. Proven initiative, drive and ability to work individually and part of a team is a must.
