About the role
As the Senior Policy Analyst, you will play a key role in the development and analysis of data-based trials and models to assess potential policy options for the regulation of the heavy vehicle industry. The position also assists in the preparation and coordination of policy papers, project plans, submissions, discussion papers, reports and briefing notes. Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct research and analyse complex data, issues and trends. Proactively contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and continued improvement of strategic policy and legislative frameworks.
- Drive the planning, coordination and analysis of data-based trials to develop policy options and advice.
- Develop and oversee national policy and its positioning within the broader National Heavy Vehicle Regulator's strategic plan.
- Manage projects and trials, ensuring completion within statutory, regulatory and financial obligations.
- Provide strategic policy advice and analysis to support informed decision-making on a range of legislative, strategic and policy matters relevant to the NHVR.
- Initiate, build and maintain networks and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the NHVR on committees and working groups as required.
- Identify and collate evidence and provide insights and recommendations on trends and practices to both internal and external stakeholders
This is a permanent full-time role based in Brisbane. Frequent intra and interstate travel may be required as part of this role.
