Where you'll be working
You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within the Centre for Oral Health Strategy which is a state-wide function of the NSW Ministry of Health.
The Centre for Oral Health Strategy leads the strategic development and coordination of oral health policy and programs for NSW. The Centre monitors the implementation of population health-based oral health prevention initiatives and public oral health service delivery in NSW.

What you'll be doing
The Senior Policy and Project Officer, Oral Health Services and Strategic Planning develops and supports the implementation of best practice policies, programs, projects, and activities for the Ministry of Health, public health organisations, and related government agencies and provides policy advice to support the achievement of NSW Health’s objectives in relation to oral health service provision.

- Demonstrated ability to make judgements and to work within a team approach to approve changes in standards, practices, policies and procedures in public sector oral health.
- Experience in project management from design to evaluation to reach predicted outcomes against strategic and business plans.
- Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of working and consulting with government and non-government agencies, Aboriginal communities and a wide range of stakeholders to address sensitive and/or contentious issues.
- Demonstrated understanding of the processes for, and experience in policy development and analysis, and project management, including financial and risk management.
- High-level analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information rapidly and accurately.
- High-level interpersonal, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated capacity for self-directed work and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
