Senior Policy & Projects Officer
- Location – Parramatta
- Employment type – Temporary Full-Time role up to 30 June 2024
- Grade/Salary – Grade ($120,859 to $133,183) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role
Develop and support the implementation of innovative policies and programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people under the Closing the Gap (CTG) program of work. Provide specialist policy advice and high-level analysis on issues and strategies. Lead projects and work in partnership with the division’s key stakeholders, including the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and non-government service providers and advocacy groups including Aboriginal Controlled Community Organisations and Aboriginal Communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part the Closing the Gap team in the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ)
What you’ll do
As part of the CTG team in ASU TAO, you will work on the development and implementation of a range of policies and projects, including state-wide policy frameworks.
This includes designing and delivering initiatives aimed at bail advocacy and supports, increasing the use of community-based sentences and improving bail systems.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a motivated high performer with experience in policy and project development and someone who:
- Can work collaboratively across teams to identify and deliver policy reform across a range of stakeholders with differing views.
- Can demonstrate leadership, take initiative and deliver results
- Has relevant tertiary qualifications, law, or criminology, or equivalent level experience.
