The Senior Policy and Project Officer will support the management of Environmental Health issues by providing advice, developing and implementing legislation, Policy and guidelines particularly in relation to, but not limited to, the Public Health Act and Regulation.How to apply

Selection Criteria * Sound current knowledge of research and factors impacting on the quality and effectiveness of Environmental Health policy, including scoping of potential future Environmental Health issues.

• Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Environmental Health, public health, or other relevant science discipline.
• Experience in Environmental Health legislation and compliance activities.
• Extensive experience in public and Environmental Health issues as they relate to Environmental Health Regulation policy development and management. For example: developing the regulatory framework and policies for management of cooling water systems, skin penetration procedures and disposal of bodies.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake literature searches and critically appraise scientific evidence.
• Demonstrated understanding of the role of government in the management and communication of Environmental Health Regulation.
• Demonstrated experience of policy development and Project management and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• High-level interpersonal, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
