Senior Project Officer, Policy And Research (Identified)

• This is an ongoing Clerk Grade 9/10 role, based in Mascot, with flexibility to work from anywhere in NSW.
• This is an identified role for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

As our Senior Policy and Research Officer, you're not just managing projects; you're building positive impact and innovating for change.. You'll coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex Policy and Research initiatives, contributing to our strategic agenda. Your focus? Resourcing and informing growth for Aboriginal Languages in NSW, including key initiatives under Closing the Gap Target 16. We're not just shaping policies; we're advocates of social reform, supporting communities in the vital resurgence of Aboriginal Languages.

This is an Identified role under the Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and as such Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role.

Aboriginal identified positions are developed where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977) for Aboriginal people who meet the following criteria:

• is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and
• identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and
• is accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.

• Passionate Advocate: An unwavering passion for supporting Aboriginal communities in the reawakening and growth of Aboriginal Languages, coupled with a genuine commitment to making a positive impact.
• Project Management Expert: Take the lead on all aspects of project planning, development, and implementation for multiple research projects. From scoping to milestone reporting, you'll be the driving force.
• Policy and Research Prodigy: Expertise in undertaking all aspects of the policy process, showcasing a strong background in research, development, implementation, review, and evaluation.
• Team Leadership: Assume senior responsibility within a team to develop, deliver, and evaluate the Trust’s research and policy agenda for Languages.
• Community-Centric Approach: Experience and understanding of community-led research design, fostering engagement, and facilitating meaningful collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Cultural Competence: Embraces and respects cultural diversity, with a deep understanding of Indigenous research methodologies and Indigenous data sovereignty.

Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10. Package includes base salary ($120,859 - $133,183) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
