The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Policy Officer to join our Water for the Environment Branch.
The Senior Policy Officer manages or contributes to policy development and reform projects, conducts evaluations, provides written and verbal advice on complex and emerging policy matters and leads negotiations with a range of stakeholders.
Biodiversity and Conservation group supports the Minister and DCCEEW by leading the development of strategic policy, influencing whole-of-government and national policy formation, and providing policy advice.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- experience with legislation review and regulatory reform processes, or a demonstrated ability to acquire relevant knowledge quickly.
- an ability to analyse complex policy issues, develop solutions and present ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- experience preparing discussion papers, briefs and submissions based on appropriate factual evidence and research, to contribute to the development of policies and advice.
- tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
