Mining, Exploration and Geoscience (MEG) sets strategic policy for the state’s mineral and energy resources. This is a great opportunity to get involved in policy development on significant Government issues including building economic opportunities associated with regions that are shifting away from coal and transition to net zero.
We are currently looking for both Policy Officers and Senor Policy Officers to join the team.

As a Policy Officer or Senior Policy Officer, you’ll provide strategic policy and legislative advice including undertaking complex research and analysis for the development, coordination, implementation, and review of policies.
The role’s key accountabilities include:
- Strategic policy development to support legislative change agenda
- Preparing briefings and advice
- Identifying emerging issues and recommend solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks.
- Preparing Cabinet Minutes and provide advice on Cabinet matters.
Senior Policy Officers will lead the successful and timely delivery of key projects across a diverse range of topics.
To be successful for either position you'll need tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience relevant to the role.
