Senior Policy Officer - Urban Water

• Salary range of $120,859 to $133,183 plus super and leave loading

Exciting opportunity to join a small team of policy professionals, working in a fast paced, dynamic environment, directly overseeing water policy reforms for sustainable water for cities and towns throughout NSW.
About the Role
As the Senior Policy Officer, you will provide strategic Urban Water policy and legislative advice and undertakes complex research and analysis to support the development, coordination, implementation and review of policy and legislative frameworks related to Urban Water management issues and reforms, working in partnership with customers and stakeholders in order to achieve great outcomes for the community.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will have an understanding of the processes of government, legislation and policy development and a broad understanding of water management issues, including relating to major cities and towns.
You will have experience in representing a government department and exercising critical judgement when dealing with stakeholders, internal and external to government, on a range of issues, including exercise judgement in a context of rapidly changing priorities, tight deadlines and conflicting perspectives. You will have experience supporting policy reform projects.
You have a genuine interest in maintaining a good knowledge of the priorities and strategic directions for the Department and other relevant NSW Government agencies on key water policy and program issues.
Essential requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated knowledge/experience in strategic planning, policy development, regulatory review or socio-economic analysis.
