Senior Privacy Officer

FIXED TERM 2 YEARS
The Senior Privacy Officer is a newly created position that will provide expert privacy policy advice, support and guidance, with a focus on supporting the Department's role in the early learning sector.
This role will research and create the necessary policy and guidance to support the Department's establishment of Early Learning Victoria, as well as broader advice around other early learning centres for which the Department has involvement or responsibility. This includes developing policy, guidance material and training, and liaising with relevant areas within the Department to ensure that privacy compliance is an integral focus for this sector.
As part of the Privacy Team, this role will also respond to privacy enquiries, complaints and incidents, covering the early learning sector, corporate areas and schools and including the review of Privacy Impact Assessments.
The incumbent will actively maintain, develop and demonstrate their specialist knowledge of privacy legislation and practice so that they can build the Privacy Team's capacity to assist the Department in meeting its legislative and policy obligations around the management of personal and health information.
This job will ideally suit candidates with strong knowledge around privacy legislation and practice, and those with legal and/or specialist privacy backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
