Senior Process Analyst

As a Senior Process Analyst at the University of New South Wales, with a Lean Six Sigma focus, you will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organisation. Leveraging your expertise in Six Sigma methodologies and design thinking expertise, you will lead complex process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing variability, and minimising operational costs.

You will analyse data, identify root causes of process inefficiencies, and develop strategic solutions to optimise business processes with a focus on user-centered design outcomes. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, senior management, and stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure the successful implementation of process changes. Coupled as a design thinking specialist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, prototype solutions, and implement design strategies that enhance user experience and business outcomes.

You will be responsible for engagement on multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope. Additionally, you will mentor and train business analysts and team members in Six Sigma principles and techniques, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your ability to interpret data, generate insights, and communicate findings effectively will be crucial in driving informed decision-making and achieving measurable improvements.

As a Senior Process Analyst, you will also be instrumental in standardising processes, maintaining quality assurance, and implementing best practices across UNSW. This role reports into the Strategy & Architecture function at UNSW.

Process Improvement Initiatives:

• Lead and manage Six Sigma & Design Thinking initiatives to drive process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Conduct thorough process assessments and root cause analyses to identify improvement opportunities.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Utilise statistical analysis tools to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
• Develop and present detailed reports and dashboards on process performance and project progress.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.
• Communicate project goals, progress, and outcomes to senior management and other key stakeholders.

Training and Mentorship:

• Provide Six Sigma training and mentorship to junior analysts and team members.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on process improvement methodologies and tools.

Quality Assurance:

• Develop and implement quality assurance procedures to maintain high standards of process performance.
• Monitor and audit processes to ensure compliance with Lean Six Sigma principles and best practices.

Documentation and Standardisation:

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, procedures, and project activities.
• Standardise processes to ensure consistency and efficiency across the organisation.

Performance Measurement:

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of process improvements.
• Conduct regular reviews and adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks associated with process changes and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate risk factors to prevent disruptions and ensure project success.

Cost Reduction:

• Analyse cost drivers and implement strategies to reduce operational costs without compromising quality.
• Monitor cost savings and financial benefits resulting from process improvements.

Benchmarking:

• Conduct benchmarking studies to compare organisational processes against industry best practices.
• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance process performance.
