Senior Process Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our team for a self-sufficient and motivated Senior Process Engineer to join the Mincore team.

Reflecting your level of experience, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, optimizing mineral processing processes, analysing the current quality system, identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and providing subject matter expertise based on the projects requirements and client objectives. 

As part of a project team, you will also be involved in project management; to provide detailed project plans to ensure the delivery of projects within specific time and budget constraints. 

Duties and Responsibilities Include:              

1. Develop, configure and optimize mineral processing plant designs.
2. Develop and review process design criteria, mass, and water balances. 
3. Develop and review metallurgical models and simulations for equipment selection basis.
4. Conduct engineering studies, designs and calculations.
5. Engage with and present solutions to clients.
6. Prepare and present project status reports internally and to clients.
7. Development of PFDs and P&IDs.
8. Develop Process Engineering documentation.
9. Adhere to engineering design standards and recommended practices.
10. Development of process flow diagrams and piping & instrumentation diagrams.
11. Perform functional specification documentation.
12. Documentation of Commissioning Test Plans, HAZOP, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment (RA) and mitigation.
13. Assisting in procurement, vendor RFQ and scheduling. 
14. Capital projects of various scales from design to commissioning phase.
15. Site Visits as required.

You will also assist the relevant projects in preparing the project execution plan, study the job instructions, documents that establish the work breakdown structure and detailed activity / cost accounts.  

Qualifications                          

 Bachelor or higher degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering

Requirements

1. 10+ years' experience working on mineral processing projects
2. Previous experience in FEED
3. Experience in gold, base metals and materials.

Proven experience in working with multiple disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical and Civil engineering as well as with Drafting and Estimation would be considered a definite advantage.

Skill & Experience                                

1. Proven work experience in Process Engineering.
2. An ability to lead client meetings presenting proposals, solutions and investments required.
3. A proven ability to develop a team environment and junior staff in advanced Process Engineering principals and practices.
4. Knowledge of process related standards and an ability to apply these in client settings.
5. Able to demonstrate Process Engineering achievements.
6. Site based experience is a definite advantage.
7. Having worked on international projects requiring international travel to client sites 
8. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. 
9. High-level planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously under pressure.
11. Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
