About the role
Patch Personnel have partnered with one of Australia’s most experienced seismic technology providers to the oil and gas and mining sectors to source a Senior Processing Geophysicist.
The Senior Processing Geophysicist reports to the Chief Geophysicist and will work primarily in Brisbane Corporate office to support the Data Processers and operations for acquisition and processing of seismic data. This is an opportunity to join a passionate and committed team servicing primary industry clients across Australia, in a lead position developing the in-house processing capability for the organisation.
Key Capabilities for the Senior Processing Geophysicist include though are not limited to:
- Supervising the Data processing and generation/archive of final client dataset
- Hands on processing and assisting our current data processors
- Improving, enhancing and documenting processing workflows, for efficiency and quality of final products
- Tracking and reporting on the progress of processing and data delivery, and any issues encountered
- Advancing processing techniques to offer additional value to products to our clients
About you
To be successful in this position it is essential to have experience supporting and mentoring small technical groups.
You will ideally have a Bachelor in Geophysics, Computing, GIS or related discipline and a minimum 5 years data processing experience from field data to pre-stack migration, including at least 2 years of experience with 3D Vibroseis processing. This will include competency maintaining computer and network systems including Windows and Linux environments.
Well developed interpersonal skills will ensure a smooth transition into the and to build and maintain relationships with the field and client teams who include a diverse range of people both internal and external to the business.
